Convert / Copy Your Cine Films to QuickTime QT Editable Files

A popular request for cine transfer is to have the cine films transferred to QuickTime (Apple QT) format files. QuickTime files are the uncompressed souce material obtained from your film scan. With these computer files you'll be able to edit your cine film transfer with your own editing software.

All film formats 16mm, 8mm, Super 8 and Standard 8 can be easily transferred to editable QuickTime files.

QuckTime files are generally most suitable for customers who are Apple based. Apple applications such as Final Cut and iMovie all use QuickTime files.

Different editing software packages make use of different file types, please make sure your software has the ability to edit QuickTime files.

Due to the amount of data these files contain it is not possible for us to transfer QuickTime files to a set of DVD ROMS. We ask for QuickTime cine transfer you supply us with a portable hard drive to capture the QuickTime cine files.

The hard drive should be supplied to us at the same time as the material to be transferred

Please ensure your hard drive has a minimum speed of 7200rpm and that you supply it with a power supply.
Although many are USB driven we have found that some do not work without a power supply.

The drive should have connections for either Firewire 800, Firewire 400 or USB 2 for Quicktime files

Make sure that it is clean and does not have any other files on it

The drive should have 15GB free for every hour of QuickTime files to be transferred
